Dorothy was a Professor of Law, Police Studies, and Criminal Justice Administration at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute, and was the first woman captain to serve with the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Police Departmen. Her writing in City Journal has been cited in Tangle.
